Matthew Shepard’s life and story have inspired millions of people to work to erase hate from their lives, from their communities, and from the world. His legacy lives on in anyone who replaces hatred and intolerance with understanding, compassion and acceptance wherever they can.

• Matthew Shepard Foundation | The Matthew Shepard Foundation amplifies the story of Matthew Shepard to inspire individuals, organizations and communities to embrace the dignity and equality of all people.
• The Center on Colfax | The Center on Colfax opened in 1976 has grown to become the largest LGBTQ community center in the Rocky Mountain region, giving voice to Colorado's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community and playing a pivotal role in statewide initiatives to reduce harassment and discrimination.
• Human Rights Campaign | By inspiring and engaging individuals and communities, the Human Rights Campaign strives to end discrimination against LGBTQ+ people and realize a world that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all. 
• Inclusive Guide | Inclusive Guide is an online community that lists safe and welcoming spaces for anyone who faces discrimination. Individuals can rate businesses and spaces on their customer service experience relating to each person’s specific identities (race, ability, gender, etc.)
• One Colorado | The state’s leading advocacy organization dedicated to advancing equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) Coloradans and their families. 
• The Southern Poverty Law Center | The SPLC is a catalyst for racial justice in the South and beyond, working in partnership with communities to dismantle white supremacy, strengthen intersectional movements, and advance the human rights of all people.
• Transgender Center of the Rockies | Provides holistic mental health services for members of Colorado's transgender and gender-expansive community.
• The Trevor Project | The Trevor Project’s mission is to end suicide among LGBTQ young people.
• PFLAG Denver | Our work - powered by allies like you - is critical to ensuring a safe, just, and affirming world for LGBTQIA+ individuals and those who love them.

Resources for Learning

• Allyship is a Verb | An educational podcast hosted by Charlie Ocean. People want to do better, but they don’t always know how. Allyship is a Verb features conversations with LGBTQ+ community members of various lived experiences and backgrounds who share their stories and an allyship tip. Charlie offers self-reflection questions and voiceovers to help deepen the learning for listeners.
• A Quick Guide to Pronouns | Online course created by Chris Angel. It takes folks about an hour to complete. Includes examples of allyship and covers various scenarios, such as how to apologize, hold yourself accountable, practice tips, and more. Pay-what-you-can model to help increase access.

• One Archives Foundation | Dedicated to telling accurate and authentic stories of LGBTQ people, history, and culture through public exhibitions, educational projects and training, and community outreach programs.
• Rehab Spot | Alcoholism is a very serious problem for the LGBTQ community. With increased awareness and treatment options, there is hope for change.
