2023-2024 Theatre Season

Welcome to the 2023-2024 Theatre Season

Be Surprised. Be Thrilled! Be Moved.

What does a really good story feel like on stage? How does it change when you know the tale is a true one? What about when the actors refuse to stay on their side of the stage? Or when they invite you into the set?

The 2023-2024 Theatre Season at the Arvada Center celebrates the surprise and magic of live performance. Join us this season for stories that range from documentary theatre to fairy tales, from rowdy Russian cabarets to small towns in Wyoming rocked by tragedy.

And - our season ticket packages are more flexible and customizable than ever. Buy season tickets that fit into your schedule, and save up to 25%.

Season ticket packages are on sale today. Single tickets for these 5 titles go on sale July 1!

Beautiful: The Carole King Musical

Beautiful: The Carole King Musical

Book by Douglas McGrath, words and music by Gerry Goffin & Carole King, Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil.

September 8 - October 15, 2023

When Carole King trusted her instincts and forged her own path, a shy, Jewish girl from Manhattan became one of the biggest songwriters in the world. The inspiring true story of King’s life, songwriting process, and rise to stardom features a stunning array of iconic hits like “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman,” “Up on the Roof,” and “So Far Away.”

This Tony and Grammy award-winning jukebox musical hit shows how much American culture has changed since the 1960s, with special appearances by some of the songwriters King worked with, and the musical acts that performed her songs. When Carole King wrote hits for the stars, she became a star herself.

The Laramie Project

The Laramie Project

By Moisés Kaufman and the Members of Tectonic Theater Project

September 29 - November 5, 2023

When gay college student Matthew Shepard was found brutalized and tied to a fence outside Laramie, Wyoming in 1998, his death made people across the country take a hard look within. Twenty-three years after its World Premiere at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, The Laramie Project still resonates today. As America continues to grapple with hate crimes, we dive deep into a very human story of the prejudice, hatred, conflicts and contradictions revealed by Matthew’s death.

Patchworked together from hundreds of interviews, The Laramie Project explores the reactions of sixty real-life characters at the epicenter of one of the country’s most heinous anti-gay crimes, examining the depth of human hatred and the heights of compassion and love.

Beauty and the Beast

Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella

Music by Richard Rodgers, Lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. New Book by Douglas Carter Beane, Original Book by Oscar Hammerstein II.

November 24 - December 31, 2023

When a young woman is forced to be a servant by her evil stepmother, it takes knowing her self-worth, some wonderful friends, and a little magic to help her get out. Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella takes a whimsical turn in the Arvada Center’s production this holiday season, creating a mysterious but playful world where magic is real and dreams come true.

This stylish, contemporary take of the fairy tale classic promises fantastical costumes, hilarious dialogue, romantic lyrics, and unforgettable music for a truly magical experience.

Our Town

Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812

By Dave Malloy

February 16 - March 31, 2024

Electropop tunes meet a scandalous slice of War and Peace in this musical extravaganza. Meet Natasha, a young woman who arrives in Moscow longing for her fiance; and Pierre, a man caught in an existential crisis who tries to save her shattered reputation.

Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 was nominated for 12 Tony Awards when it premiered in 2012. Expect to find the Black Box Theatre transformed into a raucous Russian dinner club with cabaret tables, immersive seating, and an unforgettable theatrical and musical experience.

The Book Club Play

Noises Off

By Michael Frayn

March 22 - May 5, 2024

A touring troupe’s flop of a play revolves and devolves into comedy chaos in this multi-award-winning play within a play. Noises Off is a relentless, high-energy farce filled with embarrassing moments, behind-the-scenes kerfluffles, physical comedy hijinks, and even flying sardines.

Take a trip behind the scenes as everything that could possibly go wrong, goes wrong. Noises Off gives audiences a voyeuristic view into the inner workings of theatre, and how the real drama happens when the actors leave the stage.
